CRUCRU, formerly known as Campus Crusade for Christ, is a Christian organization that cares for it's community and makes it a mission to lead people to Christ. I am particularly involved in the High School ministry.

Rocky Mountain Getaway
The Rocky Mountain Getaway, led by CRU, is a camp/conference for high school students in Estes Park, CO. This camp is geared toward leading students to Christ and teaching the students to lead others. Fortunately, I have been a part of this organization and camp since 2007. During High School I was able to attend the camp as a student, but now as a College Student I am lucky enough to be a counselor.
A very important quality that I gained from the Rocky Mountain Getaway is confidence. At this conference, it is a tradition every year to go into Boulder, CO and evangelize. Boulder is a huge melting pot of religion and lifestyles, therefore evangelizing as a student from the "Bible Belt" was slightly intimidating. The first couple times that I attempted to evangelize, I was terrified and had problems communicating with people who seemed different than me. After struggling for a while, I stepped back and reminded myself that the worst that could happen would be getting shoo'd away. After rationalizing, I emerged to speak with the locals and was surprised at how easy it became. I realized that if I would just relax and be confident, the conversations went much smoother. I now understand that confidence is a key aspect when communicating with others. If I'm not confident, I won't get my point across.
